Insight Scans - We don’t guess. We measure what matters.

At Launch Chiropractic Studio in North Vancouver, we use advanced INSiGHT Scan technology to truly understand how the nervous system is functioning—beyond what symptoms alone can tell us. Originally developed over 30 years ago and continuously refined, these tools are trusted worldwide for their ability to assess, measure, and track changes in the neuro-spinal system.

The INSiGHT system uses three primary scans to provide a detailed picture of how well the central and autonomic nervous systems are working. It helps us identify where patterns of stress, imbalance, or inefficiency are showing up—so we can create care strategies that are personalized, measurable, and meaningful.

This isn’t just cutting-edge equipment—it’s a key part of how we support individuals and families at every stage, from infancy through adulthood. Our team is fully trained in using the latest INSiGHT technology and interpreting scan results in a way that gives you real clarity and direction on your health journey.

Because when it comes to healing, speed is good, but direction is everything.

What do the Insight Scans look for & Measure?

neuroPULSE (Heart Rate Variability)

Is the nervous system keeping up—or burning out?

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is one of the most widely recognized, research-backed ways to assess nervous system adaptability. It helps us understand how well the body is responding to the many stressors of daily life—everything from emotions and physical activity to nutrition, sleep, medications, or even rapid developmental changes in childhood.

The HRV scan measures the tiny fluctuations in time between heartbeats, which tells us how balanced—or imbalanced—the autonomic nervous system (ANS) is. This includes how well the vagus nerve is functioning, which plays a critical role in regulating digestion, heart rate, mood, immunity, and more.

Your ANS has two key branches:

  • Sympathetic (“fight or flight”) – the body’s gas pedal
  • Parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) – the body’s brake pedal, largely coordinated by the vagus nerve

Think of the HRV scan like checking your nervous systems range of motion. We need to be able to Activate our GAS Pedal in response to stress, and equally we need to apply the BRAKE pedal to calm us down once the stressor has passed. If one Pedal is more active than the other, it can lead to an imbalance called dysautonomia. The effects of dysautonomia can show up in nearly every system of the body, since the Autonomic NS regulates functions like sleep, digestion, hormone balance, and immune response.

The Neuro Pulse scan gives us a clear window into this critical foundation of health.

neuroCORE (sEMG)

How efficiently is the body using its energy?

The NeuroCORE (sEMG) scan uses surface electromyography to assess muscle tone and balance in the soft tissues that support and move the spine. This scan provides a window into how the nervous system is managing resources throughout the body.

First, it helps us evaluate total energy consumption—how much effort your nervous system is using just to maintain basic posture and function. Is it operating efficiently, or burning through energy in a constant state of overdrive?

Second, it shows us how well the nervous system is organizing and coordinating spinal muscle patterns. These muscles are essential for stability, movement, and brain-body communication. When coordination is disrupted, it can signal underlying stress or interference—often well before physical symptoms appear.

This is especially helpful when working with kids who are developing rapidly, or with adults experiencing pain, poor posture, fatigue, or muscular tension.

If the nervous system is constantly working in overdrive, it leaves less energy available for healing, growing, and adapting to life.

neuroTHERMAL (Spinal Thermography)

How are spinal patterns impacting organ and system function?

The Neuro Thermal scan uses spinal thermography to assess patterns of regional dysautonomia—which simply means the nerves in certain areas may not be communicating efficiently with the organs or systems they regulate.

Every level of the spine connects with specific organs and glands. If there’s consistent mechanical stress or imbalance at a spinal level, it can begin to influence the way those organs function—even before symptoms show up.

This scan is especially helpful when someone is dealing with issues related to:

  • Digestion
  • Hormones
  • Immune challenges
  • Respiratory or cardiovascular function

It allows us to catch subtle, early changes and track how the nervous system is integrating care over time.
